Formal Holiday Dinner

by Friday, November 28, 2014

As I write this post, the country is finishing up the last of the turkey, stuffing and gravy. I truly hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with the people you love, eating the most delicious things.

Now that we’re over the hump, we can really dive into holiday parties. I’m sure your social calendar is filling up – I know mine is – and as exciting as it seems, it can also be stressful. Hopefully this (and recent) Festive Fridays will inspire you and help you find the perfect holiday look.

This week’s Festive Friday is all about that formal dinner party. It could be the one that your office is throwing (where the CEO flies in to meet everyone) hosted at a local hotel’s ballroom. Or maybe you’re meeting the boyfriend’s parents for the first time at your city’s finest five-star restaurant.

Either way, you’re going to want a showstopper that is both beautiful, dramatic and dignified.

I found this dress on Rent The Runway’s website. Most of us don’t exactly have the money (or maybe we don’t want to spend that much on a one-time-use dress), so renting is a great option. If you’re on a budget but want to feel like Cinderella at the ball, try RTR out. They’re doing an awesome Black Friday sale with 20% off your order of $75 or more.

Also, a huge thank you to Chris Frailey, my photographer for today’s post. Chris is an immensely talented photographer, so head over to his site to see his work. His landscapes will leave your jaw on the floor.

Have a great weekend all!

Thx for posting – I need a dress for a certain masquerade ball party so perhaps that website will be a perfect solution πŸ˜€

  • it really is such a fantastic website – that dress retails for well over $500 – and it’s not something I would wear again and again, so the rental is perfect!
