A Denim Story feat. Eloquii

by Tuesday, October 27, 2015

The most feared animal in the fashion jungle is without a doubt, the Jean. Just mention the notion of going jean shopping and even the most fearless among us lets out a bloodcurdling scream and, with a shaky hand, reaches for a glass of wine. The struggle is real. That’s why I take my job as a blogger so seriously: to do the work for you and tell you as much as I can about fit, quality and style so you can shop easier.

As a denim enthusiast, I am so excited to tell you about my favorite styles from Eloquii’s new denim line. When they asked me to help spread the good word about the collection I knew I wanted to not only show you the styles but also talk about building your denim wardrobe.

Your Office-Friendly Jean: The Refined Trouser
The dark wash of the Refined Trouser Jean make them perfect for the casual office – or, at least, casual Fridays. I love the length on these – I’m 5’6 – and they pair perfectly with a midi heel. I went with a size 20 and that worked out perfectly: I had a teensy bit of space but the nice stretchy material made these comfortable and easy to wear all day long.
Pair them with: Your favorite blouse for work & your sassy cold shoulder sweater for play.

Your Go-To-Date-Night Jean: The Supa Skinny
Hot, hot, hot! Eloquii’s Supa Skinny is a true skinny jean – which means it runs about a size to a size-and-a-half small (I’m wearing a 22). I think the length is great, I love how they bunch around my ankle – there’s something so sexy about it! If you’re a gal who wants a bit more hold than your typical jegging provides, the Supa Skinnies will be right up your alley.
Pair them with: a chic cashmere sweater for a ‘soft to the touch’ vibe & with a tank and leather jacket for cocktails.

Your Weekend Warrior: The Ex-Boyfriend Jean
Okay, let’s be real: by the time Sunday shows up, and I’ve spent the week between Spanx and tight jeans, I’m ready for sweats and yoga pants. Thankfully the Ex-Boyfriend jeans are as comfy as sweats (though considerably more chic) they kind of make me feel like I’m cheating a bit. I shouldn’t be this comfortable and still look this hot, right? They are the perfect Sunday jean. I’m wearing a size 20 and have lots of room (in a good way) and the lightweight fabric and loose fit make these a dream to wear.
Pair them with: sky high heels and a colorful peplum top for a chic casual look & a flannel around your waist with a sassy tank and flats for a cool-girl feel.

Hopefully this guide to beginning denim was helpful – and now you know where to start when searching for new styles to build a fuller denim wardrobe! Remember fit is key (especially when jean shopping) so be armed with your measurements and get ready to fight the good fight!

Did you try any of eloquii’s jeans last year, and if so did you notice a difference this year? I bought two pairs last year & was disappointed with how they fit a couple of hours later– they stretched way too much. I’m kind of curious about this year’s, but since I can return to City Chic or Torrid for free I’ve been opting for their jeans.

  • Great review, I love how you styled the different jeans. I think my favorite is the Supa Skinny. 🙂
