Rule Breaker

by Friday, January 22, 2016

I seem to be in a rebellious mood lately – because just like last Friday, this Friday, I’m busting up another fat girl fashion myth: “fat girls can’t wear stripes.” ย The theory behind the rule is that horizontal stripes add width and bulk to the body – but that simply isn’t true. I’ve worn stripes here on the blog many times (so you know how I feel about that ‘rule’) but this dress from Eloquii takes them to a whole new level.

Ill fitting garments can certainly add bulk to the body, with or without stripes. So I say, wear your stripes proudly! Just make sure your garment fits – but more importantly – make sure that YOU love wearing it.

I wore this recently to a local meeting of my FGI chapter, where I serve on the board of directors. To say that the FGI ladies are a stylish bunch would be an understatement, but the ladies stopped and swooned over my frock. I felt like a million bucks!
If you’re an office-worker and want something fabulous that is work appropriate and goes easily into cocktail hour – thisย needs to be in your closet.
